Hi, my name is Kayla Robinson and I am a student at Housatonic Valley Regional High School and a member of the Civic Life Project. The project is to create a documentary on our first amendment rights as students and how we were affected by the decision made by our school to prohibit President Obama’s educational speech from being shown on September 8th. We would like your opinion on whether you believe the speech should have been shown, or if our school made the right decision.

Hi Kayla:
Great job. One suggestion: I think you want to introduce the project with a more open question. If you ask a question that essentially requires only a simple answer, i.e. the school was right, or the school was wrong, it limits the possibility of conversation. So instead of "we would like your opinion whether..." you might want to say we'd like to speak to you about our project and hear your thoughts about the speech controversy.
