Kayla Robinson's Page

Hi, my name is Kayla Robinson and I am a student at Housatonic Valley Regional High School and a member of the Civic Life Project. The project is to create a documentary on our first amendment rights as students and how we were affected by the decision made by our school to prohibit President Obama’s educational speech from being shown on September 8th. We would like your opinion on whether you believe the speech should have been shown, or if our school made the right decision.

Obama Speach and the U.S



Obama’s educational speech to the students was a highly controversial subject throughout the nation. Majority of the states approved the speech to be displayed in the classrooms, but Texas and Alabama did not. Connecticut, being one of the states that approved this speech had one school district that was forbidden to watch it, which was Region One.
